Why we love Mark

We’ve loved working with Mark on our editorial services for a number of years, and are thrilled to offer mentoring with him. Mark’s expert encouragement and advice have helped countless writers over the years, bringing both his wide expertise and friendly, insightful approach to every project!

What Mark says about mentoring

If I’d been offered mentoring at the beginning of my career, I’d have leapt at the chance. It wouldn’t have made learning to write any easier, because all writers are different and we each do it our own way, but it would have made the process more efficient and focused. And fun!

Good books don’t happen by accident. They are down to hard work and dedication, and finding the best way for each particular writer can save a lot of time and effort.

No writer is the same, we all write from different experiences and in a different way. But every day is a school day, and every word you write takes you somewhere you’ve never been before. You never stop learning how to be a better writer, and mentoring is one of the best ways to learn, and get it straight from the horse’s mouth.

It’s none of their business that you have to learn how to write. Let them think you were born that way. – Ernest Hemingway

Testimonial

It’s fair to say that without Mark Leggatt I would not have become an author. Mark mentored me through the many difficult times when writing seemed too hard and plot inspiration more so. He found a way to push me forward, to tell me the home truths that I didn’t want to hear while building my confidence. He got me over the line, and made the process simple and even the re-writing enjoyable.
